The
Story
Pan African Jazz – Cairo Jazz Festival
Documenting the Pan African Jazz Band’s performance in Cairo was an unforgettable personal and creative experience.
Being behind the camera in a city as rich and complex as Cairo, I found myself immersed not only in the sound of jazz, but in a conversation between cultures, histories, and rhythms that echoed far beyond the stage.
My goal wasn’t just to showcase a performance — it was to capture the energy, the warmth of the audience, and the subtle moments of connection between the musicians and the people.
Each note, each beat, carried stories of identity, resistance, and celebration.
This project reminded me that music is a bridge — and sometimes, the best way to tell a story is to let it sing.
