Every film begins
with listening.
I’m Camilo Arias, a Colombian filmmaker and visual artist based in Canada. I create documentary films for festivals, cultural institutions and organizations seeking to preserve meaningful human stories.

THE APPROACH
Every documentary begins long before the camera starts recording.
My work is built on trust, curiosity and genuine human connection. Whether filming a music festival, a cultural celebration or a diplomatic event, I believe the strongest stories emerge when people feel seen, respected and free to be themselves.
I don't simply document events. I look for the moments that reveal identity, emotion and belonging.

MY STORY
Growing up in Colombia, I learned early that every community carries stories that rarely make headlines, yet shape the lives of the people who live them.
Years later, after working in television, exhibiting internationally and eventually moving to Canada, I realized my work had never really changed. Whether through painting or documentary filmmaking, I have always been searching for the same thing: the moments that reveal who we are.
Today, every film I create is an invitation to slow down, observe and preserve the people, cultures and memories that deserve to endure.
Great films begin
with a conversation.
Let's create a film that lasts beyond the moment.
